01 / The service
ERP Development, built around your business.
Our ERPNext and Frappe development work supports US businesses that need workflows beyond standard configuration. We scope custom applications, document permissions and connect third-party systems through agreed interfaces. Delivery is remote from India, with repository access and maintenance responsibilities agreed in advance.
Some business workflows need more than a configuration change. A new operational application, a specialized approval process or a connection to another system may need development. We build Frappe applications around those requirements, with the people using the workflow involved throughout.
We start by describing the records, responsibilities and actions involved. Who creates a request? Who can change it? What must happen before it moves forward? Those answers shape the data model, permissions and user interface before implementation starts.
Development is reviewed through working examples. We demonstrate the agreed scenarios, test denied actions as well as permitted ones, and check the result against the systems it connects to. Questions about data ownership, failures and corrections are addressed as part of the workflow.
The handover is planned alongside the build. We agree repository access, deployment responsibilities, documentation and support arrangements so the application can be operated and maintained after the initial release.
02 / Scope
What’s included.
We agree the scope with you before work begins. These are the areas we can cover.
Custom Frappe applications
Design the records, forms and business rules needed for a specialized process, with a clear boundary between the application and the surrounding ERP setup.
Business workflows
Build validations, approvals and background actions around agreed responsibilities. Cover corrections and rejected requests alongside the usual successful path.
Portals and interfaces
Scope staff, customer or supplier interfaces around the information each user should see and the tasks they need to complete.
APIs and integrations
Define the records and events that cross system boundaries. Include authentication, data mapping, validation and failure handling in the integration scope.
Reports and operational views
Develop the reports and views that help teams follow work, investigate exceptions and reconcile records with the underlying transactions.
Testing and release preparation
Test representative scenarios and permissions, document deployment steps and agree how changes will be reviewed before a release.
03 / Our approach
Start with the problem. Agree the next step.
Where work gets difficult
A custom screen alone does not solve an operational problem. Missing permissions, unclear ownership and unhandled failures can move manual work into a new interface without making the process easier to manage.
We define the whole workflow, from the first record to the final report. Development is packaged in a maintainable application where appropriate, with explicit permissions, validation, test scenarios and deployment notes. Compatibility is reviewed when the underlying application stack changes.
04 / Working together
A clear process, from first conversation to handover.
Define the workflow
Agree users, data, actions, exceptions and acceptance scenarios before selecting the implementation approach.
Design and review
Review the data model and the main screens with the people who will use and maintain the application.
Build and test in stages
Deliver working increments, demonstrate business scenarios and test permissions, integrations and failure cases.
Release and hand over
Prepare the deployment, review operational checks and provide the documentation and access agreed for handover.
05 / Benefits
What your team takes away.
A working application for an agreed workflow
A release checked against the scenarios and responsibilities defined with your process owners.
A clear technical handover
The agreed code, deployment instructions and operating notes, with repository and access arrangements set out in the project scope.
A basis for future changes
A record of the application structure, interfaces and key decisions so later work starts from an understood baseline.
06 / A little clarity
Common questions.
How is development different from customization?
Customization usually adapts an existing ERPNext workflow or document. Development is useful when you need a new application or a substantial process beyond the existing structure. We review the requirement before choosing.
Will the application work with future upgrades?
Compatibility needs to be tested against the versions and dependencies you use. We discuss upgrade expectations during scoping and review custom applications before a major version change.
Can you develop alongside our internal team?
Yes. We can agree responsibilities for design, development, reviews, deployment and maintenance so your team has a clear role throughout the engagement.
Who manages the code and deployment?
Repository access, licensing or ownership terms, infrastructure access and deployment responsibilities are agreed before work begins. These should be explicit parts of the handover plan.
Can ERPNext connect to Shopify or third-party APIs?
ERPNext can exchange data through Frappe REST APIs, and Shopify integration is available through a separate connector app. We assess connector compatibility, data ownership, permissions, order and inventory mapping, duplicate prevention and recovery before agreeing implementation. See the official Shopify integration documentation and Frappe REST API documentation.
Can ERPNext integrate with QuickBooks?
An integration may be possible through the APIs available for your QuickBooks edition, or an agreed export and import process. We first determine whether QuickBooks will remain the accounting system or be replaced. Connector availability, API access, licensing, chart-of-accounts mapping and reconciliation must be assessed; no ready-made connector is promised.
